Newt Gingrich- Believes that Iran is not a rational actor and is inclined to believe Ahmadinejad, which he calls (as many do) a dictator, because he believes it is dangerous not to. Stated that if an Israeli Prime Minister contacted him he would give him the green light to go after Iran if he felt that his people were in danger.
Mitt Romney- States that if he was president he would not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons, no questions asked. He believes that we should let the Iranians know that military action will be considered if necessary.
Rick Santorum- Stated that he has been working for 8 years to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. He believes that President Obama should have done more to assist the Iranian people during the last, as he worded it (like many), stolen election. “I will take Iran on.”
Ron Paul- Stated that there is no evidence that Iran has a nuclear weapon. Yet, believes the more the world community believes and says that they do, the more they will seek to get one. Stated that the real threat and what we should be worried about is the nuclear weapons that have been leftover from the Soviet Union. Believes that sanctions back fire and that it leads to citizens to rally around their leaders; according to Paul himself Cuba is a perfect example because Castro is still there.
